A battling Blues side were unlucky to fall to a 3-2 defeat away at Spurs.

Spurs took the lead after just two minutes through a close range effort from Alex Olsen.

Blues then pulled the scores level just after half time when Aaron Moses-Garvey converted a penalty.

But they were behind again just a minute later when Spurs full Danny Hutchins scored a fine solo effort.

The home side made it 3-1 late on before Blues pulled a goal back through James O'Brien on 85 minutes.

Despite the defeat, Academy coach Steve Spooner felt there were a lot of positives from his side.

"It was a very encouraging performance and if we keep playing like that I'll be very happy," said Spooner.

"The result was a slight disappointment, but the positives far outweigh the negatives.

"Our passing was very good and we showed a lot of calmness and assurance in all areas of the pitch.

"Once again we played schoolboys in the team and two massive bonuses for us were Luke Hubbins and Jamie Dunphy making their debuts after coming on as substitutes.

"That was very encouraging because they did very well and didn't look daunted at all.

"We ended up with four schoolboys on the pitch at the end which bodes very well for the future.

"If I was being picky about the performance it was that we didn't create enough goalscoring opportunities, but that's something we'll be working work on."
