BarclayspremierleaguelogoAn inexperienced Blues Reserve side were crushed 6-0 by Reading in their opening Barclays Premier Reserve League game on Wednesday evening.

Reserve team boss Keith Bertschin had to rely on youth, because of Blues' participation in the Carling Cup the previous evening and unfortunately they were no match for a more experienced Reading outfit.

Reading's took the lead the lead through Oliver Bozanic after 12 minutes, before the advantage was doubled just before the break thanks to Simon Church.

Then the game was put beyond doubt after the visitors' scored another three goals without reply in a 12 minute period in the second half through James Henry on 53 minutes, Church again on 61 and then Henry, who netted his second 65.

Blues' misery was compounded just before full time, when Henry picked up his third and Reading's sixth goal to cap a night to forget for Blues' second string.
