Mikael Forssell scored a hat trick in the Reserves' 5-1 win. |
Mikael Forssell was in impressive form as he bagged himself a hat trick for Blues' second string, and Neil Danns and Radhi Jaidi also netted a goal apiece.
The only downside of the evening was minor injuries to Asa Hall and Stuart Parnaby.
Hall suffered minor concussion and was taken to hospital as a precaution and Parnaby was forced to leave the field with a minor pull to muscle behind his knee.
Blues opened the scoring with just 12 minutes on the clock.
Franck Queudrue did well to win a header, which fell to Neil Danns.
Danns fed the ball to Stuart Parnaby who whipped in a terrific ball in behind the Fulham defence, which Forssell headed home.
Despite creating more chances Blues were forced to wait until the 71st minute for their second goal.
Fifteen-year-old Jordon Mutch was the provider this time, when he crossed the ball in from the wing for Forssell to fire home on the half volley.
It was all Blues now and the decisive third goal came ten minutes later through Neil Danns after he beat a couple of Fulham players before hitting a good angle shot into the corner of the net.
At 3-0 up Blues switched off slightly and were made to pay when Fulham reduced the deficit when they broke through the middle and Brady Hudson-Odoi scored for the visitors.
But with full time fast approaching Mikael Forssell claimed a deserved hat trick when he danced through three tackles before prodding the ball away.
The rout was completed in stoppage time when Radhi Jaidi headed the ball home from a corner deep into stoppage time.
We will have the comments of Reserve team boss Keith Bertschin on bcfc.com later this morning.
