Blues Reserves were comprehensively beaten 4-1 by West Ham at Upton Park on Tuesday evening.

The goal hero for West Ham was striker Bobby Zamora who claimed a second half hat-trick

Blues had earlier taken a 1-0 lead thanks to a Stefan Milojevic header in the first half.

Both sides had a number of experienced players on the pitch.

Among the starting XI for Blues were Daniel De Ridder, Stuart Parnaby, Mauro Zarate, Rafael Schmitz and Colin Doyle.

And for the home side, as well as Zamora, there were also places for Jonathan Spector, Julien Faubert and Jimmy Walker.

Blues had the better of the opening chances and both De Ridder and Zarate forced Hammers keeper Walker into saves.

West Ham slowly began to force their way back into the game and Faubert and Zamora both tested Colin Doyle.

Bobby Zamora scored a hat trick against Blues
Blues had a golden chance to take the lead via Jared Wilson, but his effort was turned behind for a corner by Walker.

But from the resultant dead ball Milojevic headed the ball home off the post to give Blues the lead.

This lasted until two minutes before half time, when Jack Collison levelled after beating Colin Doyle with an angled shot.

Buoyed by their equaliser West Ham started the second half at pace and created several chances before Zamora claimed his first goal of the night just before the hour mark to give the home side the lead.

It took just another seven minutes for his next goal to arrive when he flicked the ball past Doyle and into the net from Faubert's cross.

Then in stoppage time Zamora claimed his third goal with a well taken header to complete a good night for the former Spurs and Brighton forward, but a disappointing evening for Blues.
