Garry O'Connor scored a hat-trick in the reserves' cup final win.
Blues Reserves this evening clinched some silverware courtesy of a comprehensive 5-0 win over Burton Albion at St. Andrew's in the Birmingham Senior Cup final with Garry O'Connor netting a hat-trick.

O'Connor started the romp as his glancing header from a Daniel de Ridder cross beat former Blues keeper Kevin Poole in the Burton goal.

De Ridder was involved again in the second goal as he set up Stuart Parnaby and the former Middlesbrough man fired home impressively.

De Ridder was forced to leave the action before the interval due to injury.

Two goals up at the break, Blues didn't take their foot off the gas and O'Connor extended the advantage with a close range volley.

Semih Aydilek then hit the post when he should really have scored but O'Connor followed up to complete his three-goal haul.

Cameron Jerome grabbed a fifth late on when set up by Aydilek to put the seal on an excellent night.

Schoolboys Jordon Mutch and Ashley Sammons again impressed in the Blues midfield where they found themselves up against former Liverpool star Nigel Clough, the Burton boss.

Captain Franck Queudrue lifted the Birmingham Senior Cup to the delight of the Blues fans who had braved the elements to support the side.

Blues: Colin Doyle, Stuart Parnaby, David Joyce, Franck Queudrue (Jack Rutter), Rafael Schmitz, Jordon Mutch, Daniel De Ridder (Jamie Sheldon), Garry O'Connor (Jake Jervis), Cameron Jerome, Ashley Sammons, Semih Aydilek.
