LARSSON EYES FINAL DAY HIGHLIGHT
Seb Larsson has some happy memories to take from his first season in Premier League football but he admits that the highlight would be if Blues can survive on the final weekend.
The Swedish winger has been one of the shining lights of an otherwise frustrating return to the top flight for Alex McLeish's men.
The 22-year-old is one of the favourites to win the Player of the Season accolade along with the Goal of the Season award for his stunning winner at Tottenham.
But he insists that he'll gain little satisfaction from personal awards if the team don't stay up.
Looking back on his own contribution to the season, Larsson told www.bcfc.com: "It's been nice to score a few free-kicks. It's something that I enjoy working on and like doing so that's been good.
"And scoring my first goal away to Tottenham was a great feeling too plus scoring at St. Andrew's in front of the home fans is also nice.
"Hopefully the biggest highlight will come on Sunday if we stay up."
He added: "You can understand the fans' frustration when we don't do well.
"All we can really say is that we'll fight as hard as we can on Sunday, give 100 per cent for the team and hopefully that will be enough to get a result to keep us up."
Larsson is refusing to consider life back in the Championship while there is still a chance that the club can beat the odds and remain in the division.
When pressed on his own future should Blues go down, the former Arsenal man insisted: "I haven't thought about going anywhere else.
"I am contracted to the club and I'm extremely happy here.
"But I don't want to put my mind in the Championship because if I do then I've already given up on this season and I'm not willing to do that."
Meanwhile, Larsson will find out on Tuesday if he has made the Sweden squad for this summer's Euro 2008 finals in Austria and Switzerland.
He said he was hopeful of being included, but insisted: "I haven't really thought too much about it, my focus has been on Birmingham and trying to do well here.
"But, without a shadow of a doubt, of course I want to go away to the European Championships.
"It would be a dream come true and something that I'd really look forward to if I get picked for the squad."
