Powerful Tunisian defender Radhi Jaidi joined Blues on a three-year-deal from Bolton in August 2006.
The fee for the former Trotter could reach more than £2m with add-ons.
Jaidi was the first Tunisian player to join an English Premier League club when he joined Bolton from leading Tunisian side Esperance de Tunis in July 2004.
He was a member of Tunisia's 2004 African Nations Cup winning squad, and also appeared in the 2002 and 2006 World Cup Finals, where he appeared alongside Blues midfielder Mehdi Nafti.
During his time at the Reebok Jaidi made a total of 51 appearances and scored eight goals.
Jaidi completed an impressive first season in the heart of the Blues defence, predominantly alongside Martin Taylor.
He poses an aerial threat with his heading ability and scored six goals in the 2007/08 season.
