He went on to make ten appearances before the end of the season and impressed sufficiently to earn a permanent contract at St. Andrew's in the summer of 2005, signing a three-year contract.
Unfortunately Nafti snapped his cruciate ligament during a pre-season game against Deportivo and was forced to sit out much of the 2005/06 season.
He returned to action in 06/07 and played his part in the promotion-winning campaign, making 32 league appearances.
The Tunisian international is the proud owner of an African Nations Cup winners' medal after his country's 2-1 success over Morocco in the 2004 final and travelled with the squad to Germany for the World Cup finals in the summer of 2006.
